Sprinkle Much

What a GRRREEEATT weekend!!! That's all I'm gonna say! Well, not really, but that's all I have to say because I had such a nice weekend!!

On Saturday morning, I went to my sorority meeting. I ws debating whether or not I should go b/c I'm due in just a few weeks, but I figured why not. My back is still hurting a bit from the accident, but I still ventured out. The ladies were so happy (& surprised) to see me. Only I would drive to an hours-long meeting at 37 weeks preggo. I really wanted to go b/c I knew that would be my last meeting until at least April. Anyway, after the meeting I went to my SIL's house for a Sprinkle!

What is a Sprinkle you ask?? Well, it's a baby shower when you already have 2 kids! As the name implies, it's not a full-on shower, but a little celebration for the bundle of joy. I wasn't expecting any sort of celebration (especially after this) but everyone is so excited because we're having a girl this time!! It was so much fun!!! Of course I was exhausted and huge and I could barely move (or breathe for that matter), but I had such a nice time. And boy oh boy is that baby gonna be spoiled!!!! Between her grandmothers and aunts and other lady friends....

AND I've never seen so much pink in all my life!!! LOL Pink for daaayyyzzzzz!!

Anyway, my Saturday was faboo!! I just wish I took some pictures. I mean, I'm not that fond of preggo-me, but I don't mind posing a bit (ya know, for the sake of my blog of course). I'm sure I'll do better once Little Girl arrives.

My feet, ankles, legs, tummy, shoulders, neck, face, eyelashes, ear lobes, and fingernails ACHE so I'm gonna take it down now. Peace out.

Trifecta!!!! Oui ou Non??

Soooooo, are you ready?????

Are you ready to find out the most delicious news across this here innanets???

This is the biggest news I've had to share since...... well, since telling people the sex of the other two babies.....

Well, I've been saying all along that I'd really love to have another boy! I'm used to boys now, and since my boys are so super duper fantastic, why shake things up with a girl... right?

Plus, I don't do hair. Little girls need their hair done... like everyday! Uhhh, good luck with that little imaginary daughter of mine. Ha!

So, my mind was made up. Boy! Boy! Boy! Ty didn't care as much, but I reeeeeallllly had a preference. Have I made that clear yet? lol

Anyway, when I left the ultrasound appointment, I left quite content! I just couldn't stop smiling!!!

We're having a GIRL y'all!!!!!!!

Yep, a girl! No trifecta over here! lol

I had no idea deep down I wanted a girl. I mean, you really could've fooled me! lol I'm sure I would've been happy with another little boy, but man, you couldn't wipe that cheesy grin off my face!! The u/s tech had to confirm the gender like 3 times though because I just didn't believe her. So, of course, there's an arrow with "GIRL" written on the picture they gave me! haha

Anyway, WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOO for us! I am just too excited! Now, if only she'd ease up on the pain producing girations sometimes (that's a whole other can of worms I don't dare open today).

YAY Us!!! And, yes, we already have a name picked out.
It was gonna be Aaron's name if he was a girl.

Major Life Changes Much

Soooo...

I've told you about how I've been all sleepy and anxious and scatterbrained and all that good stuff. I've mentioned how I've been eating a whole lot and how I've been craving nachos and other yummy treats..

Well....

Wait for it...

I'M PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember the sickness after Memorial Day and the indigestion.... ding ding ding! a little baby is coming! We are due February 11 - and it can't come soon enough!

And before you even ask, no we weren't trying, but we're excited all the same!! I already know we're having another boy, but everyone thinks it's a girl because I've been sick and I didn't have a day of sickness with the boys.

We'll see....

btw, please keep us in prayer!! When little one arrives, we'll have THREE kids under 4!!! YIKES!
Let's just hope at least one of them is potty trained by then!! *shudder*

My Day

So, today was Mother's Day. Supposedly, it was myyyy day (whatever that means). I had a really nice Mom's Day. The weather was agreeable, church service was nice, I got to see my god-daughter (& her parents), I ate apple pie... what more could I ask for.

To start this special day, Jordie really wanted to give me flowers which I thought was a very nice gesture. He came up to me with a little flower in a plastic cup (that he made in school) and said HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MOMMY!!! and gave me the flower. It really was the cutest thing. Aaron scampered up with a card in hand and uttered what I have to believe was happy mother's day. Again, too cute.
Ty then gave me even more flowers (all pink! woo hoo) and I gave them all a big THANK YOU!

Little did I know that wouldn't be the end of the gift giving. (By force) I had to give my cute little plastic cup flower back to Jordan. He REFUSED to let me keep it. I'm not sure why, but he reaaaalllly wanted it back. So, I gave it back to him. He didn't even look back with any second thoughts before he took it back downstairs. Uhhhhh, thanks Jordan.

Maybe he was confused since this is also his birthday weekend. He must've thought that all gifts were his this weekend. Yeah, that must be it!

HA!

We were out all day today and got home around 7:30. I then proceeded to make Jordan's birthday cupcakes for school tomorrow. I made 48. Think that'll be enough? I think there are only 12 kids in his class. 4 cupcakes per 3 year old child should make for a fun afternoon for the teachers!! Oh, to be a fly on that wall!! At least they are the mini cupcakes.

Well, I'm off to bed. Finally.
More on Jordan's birthday tomorrow.

p.s. I wish I took pics today. I took some yesterday and I'll take some tomorrow. I guess that's the life of a mom. I take pics everyday except for My Day! There's always next year..

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MOMS OUT THERE!!!

BordersLine

Can we all please channel our inner Madonna for a moment....
sing with me..

"Borderline, borderline
feels like I'm going to lose my mind
cuz you keep on pushing my love
over the borderline, borderline"

Now, I have to imagine that Madonna was singing to a gentleman caller in this song (which I like to sheepishly brrraaagggg to all I encounter that my dear friend's father wrote this song!!! how cool is that!), however, I am singing to two little ones not yet out of diapers (or pull-ups, whichever suits your fancy).

The boys and I had another full and quite eventful weekend!!! Really, just Saturday. Saturday was a doozy! So much so, that my little insomniac (according to Jordie, he is NEVER sleepy) went to bed at 6pm FOR THE NIGHT!!! no dinner, no bath, no pj's, nada!

That gives you an idea as to how much I dragged them all about town in an effort to give Ty some quiet time to complete his final paper for school. Whhheeewwww, I'm tired just re-telling it all.

Oh yeah, let me just preface by saying that I for some reason thought it was a grrrreeeat idea to go out with 2 tantrum prone toddlers sans stroller! Alone! Yikes... I wish someone would've warned me!

Let's start at 12:30, when the boys and I left the house. First stop, Babies R Us. I was there to pick up 2 giant bibs so the boys mightpossiblyjustmaybe come home from daycare without their lunch and everyone else's lunches all over their clothes! and play dough. and paint. and snot.
Once I got in the store, I made a mental note to forever remember - NEVER go to BRU on a Saturday afternoon. There were so many prego ladies there creating registries, so many others there shopping off the registries. It was a madhouse!
Anyway, we make it out of there relatively unscathed and we head off to our next stop.

So, I took the boys to the mall. Typically, I would've brought the stoller, but since we were just going for lunch (& they don't allow strollers in the restaurant), I left it in the car. We make 2 quick stops to look for a jacket for Jordan. no luck, so we keep moving.
We get to Friendly's and there is a wait! Uggghhhh. I was shocked at how well the boys were behaving while waiting for a table. They weren't angels, but I was pleased with their efforts.
We sit down. Drinks come. Food comes. The boys eat. The boys drink. The boys fight. Jordan falls out under the table. Aaron kicks off his shoes AND his socks. Mommy sweats.

Lunch over. We all leave in tears.

Off to Old Navy to find this elusive spring jacket. By the time we arrive (no more than 10 minutes later), the truck reaks of something fooooouuuuuuuull! I open the back door and begin changing diapers. in the parking lot. fun times.
We get in the store and all is good. I buy my summer staples (Old Navy flip flops... can't beat 2 for $5). Then I locate Jordan's jacket! The ONLY jacket there and it's a 3T! Jackpot! As we walk to the checkout, we walk by the kids section. I don't know who thought it was a good idea, but having a whole section of puzzles and blocks and balls is sooo not a good look. Jordan was gone (in every sense of the word) after he saw this area designated just for the likes of him. It took me (literally) 15 minutes to get him out of there (w/o losing Aaron) and I had to bribe him with the purchase of a ball. He suckered me and he knew it. My flip flops were $2.50 each, the jacket was $4.99, but that dangblasted ball - $5.50!!! I mean, I get that that's not a lot of money, but still!! Woooo Sahhhh

Time to go. The boys were getting tired and it is now 4:30.
Jordan told me he wanted to go to the bookstore. I had told him earlier in the day that if we had time we'd go to the bookstore. Against my better judgment... we went.

We arrive at Borders and I reason with myself that since I had just changed BOTH boys at Old Navy that I wouldn't weigh myself down with the diaper bag. Ummm, come again? I decided to do what??

Anyway, this lovely gentleman worker held the door for us as we entered (into Hell). Jordan is not pleased with the bookstore b/c he doesn't see any books for him. He cries. A lot. Again, against my better judgment we keep on walking to the kids section. He sees books for him and all is well with the world. We start to pick out our reading material when all of a sudden... grunt grunt. CRIKEY!!!
The boys and I head off for our first experience using the potty in a public restroom!! My worst nightmare has come true!

By the time we got in there, Jordan had already pooped in his pull-up. TMI? Just wait, there's more. He says "more are coming."
There's this little trash can in the stall, so I have him stand on it while I hold him over the toilet. He continues to poop. It's kinda loose... never a good sign. All the while, Aaron is pulling as much toilet paper off the ring as he possibly can. Speed counts. I yell. He stops. He stands in the corner of the stall completely still! He's never been so still. Ha! Just wait, Aaron.

Jordan is still pooping. Then, I see this stream of YOU KNOW WHAT heading in the direction of Aaron. I throw Aaron out of the way and watch urine land on the pile of toilet paper Aaron "prepared" on the floor. Thanks Aaron. I then turn Jordan around to finish in the toilet (all the while hoping he has no more poop that needs to come out).

Finally, he's finished. That's when I realize I DON'T HAVE THE DIAPER BAG!!! Shoot me now. I wet some paper towel and wipe Jordan with that. I clean off his leg and his jeans from where the poop got him when I pulled the dirty pull-up down. Really, will someone just shoot me now?? Like magic, another pull-up appears. I always keep a spare pull-up & diaper in my handbag. Wheewwww. Did you know that unlike diapers, you have to take off shoes, and pants to put on a fresh pull-up? Did you know how un-fun that is in a smelly public bathroom? Don't try it, just take my word for it.

We finally make it out of the bathroom and it is time to go. Before I can execute my escape plan, Aaron runs over to some Random man and asks him to read a book. Did I mention the man is already reading a book to his own child??? Uhhh, Aaron, it's time to go. We grab our books and head for the checkout line. The longest line in history.

I am holding each child's hand, but because of all the activity (errrr, mayhem) my hands are laden with perspiration. Aaron escapes my grasp first. I catch him, give him a good talking to and we get back in line. I lost my place in line and no one was gracious enough to honor my spot. Mmmmm hmmmm, duly noted. We make a little headway, and Aaron takes off again. I am hot on his heels when I hear Jordan right behind me with something in his hands. He then dropped said items (pencils. many many pencils) all over the floor... and I'm lucky enough to get to pick them up.
uhhh, fellow customers, thanks so much for offering to help me, but I'd prefer it if you just STARE!!

We again lose our place in line and must start over. Lucky for us, the line moves quickly. We get to the counter. The girl rings me up and I tell her (I really did tell her) that as soon as I let go of the boys to get my wallet, one of them is going to take off. Guess what happened next? Aaron took off! Really, he might be Olympic-bound. I told you speed counts. I gave the girl the money, left my bag on the counter, told Jordie to not move a muscle "or else" and took off to find Aaron. He was gone. He's tiny and the bookcases are so tall that it would take a miracle to find him. I knew I only had seconds to get him because I still had Jordan up front ALONE. I'm yelling for him, then I hear his laugh as he's running around the kids' section. I grab him and tell him in no uncertain terms that this is NOT FUNNY! He immediately begins to cry. He's very sensitive. By the time I get back to the checkout, the sales girl is holding my change and I just tell her to throw it in the bag.

We leave. Again, in tears.
What was supposed to be a 20 minute stop in Borders turned into well over an hour.

By the time we got home, Jordan was knocked out. As it turns out... for the night.
Aaron soon followed. Thank God.

Many lessons were learned on this fateful day out...
But I was also happy to learn that even though I was tested... we all made it home safely. and probably not permanently scarred.

keep pushing my love
come on baby, come on darling

Hot Boys

My boys really make me laugh!! Just thinking about some of our daily goings-ons make me giggle a bit. Like, I'm laughing right now..... but I'm sure no one else would find it funny. Jordan is quite the comedian, but dear Aaron.... he is just a clown! He'll do anything for a laugh... and even at his tender age (not quite 2), he can make himself laugh at just about anything!!! Have you ever seen a baby fall out laughing at their own "jokes???" That's my Aaron! Ha!

In addition to be hilarious, my boys are also very very hot! It doesn't take much to make them sweat, so I'm reeeeaaallly looking forward to many stinky sweaty summers ahead! Ha!

So, two quick semi-funny, semi-sweaty stories. Please indulge me.

Number 1:
After the heatwave this past weekend, I found 2 red melted crayons in Aaron's carseat. Fun. Being as though I'm always the super-prepared, always ready for anything, OCD type of mom (yeah right!).. I knew just what to do to keep the crayon from potentially ruining my Owwie's khaki shorts. That's right, I laid a cute winter hat in the seat for Aaron to sit on. Talk about preparation.

Moving on..
So we're all in the car. Ty is driving. When he drives I get rubbernecking fever... I'm constantly looking at the boys. So, I turn around to catch a glimpse and what do I see? Aaron wearing the winter hat. He was just looking out the window, not doing anything funny. But when we locked eyes, we both fell out laughing! It was 90+ degrees. Picture a baby in shorts and a t-shirt with a winter hat on - big ol' pompom on top and everything! The whole car erupted in laughter!

I guess you had to be there..
(it really was funny, though ..lol)

Number 2:
It's still hot. The boys are still sweaty. I'm still lazy and didn't want to cook dinner. We go to one of our favorite spots - GG's house! YAY GG!!! We had dinner over there, played for a bit, watched tv, etc. Then it was time to go.

So, we're all in the car. Ty is driving. Let the rubbernecking begin.
This time, the boys and I are singing songs, playing peek-a-boo, etc. They do such a good job that I ask Jordan for a high five. We are big time high fivers at Chez BlueWorld! Anyway, since it's nighttime, the car is dark. I ask for my high five and what do I get? A hand full of mitten!! Yeah, that's right, mitten. I was so surprised that we all once again fell out laughing!! I mean, why was he wearing mittens??? When did he put them on? How come I was the only one who didn't notice?

Again, I guess you had to be there.

Boys Much

Even after the way my darling babydolls treated me last week... I still couldn't wait for the weekend when we would have hours upon hours of uninterrupted fun!! What's better is that we extended our fun into Monday.... we just couldn't get enough of eachother!!!

Where do I begin?? :-)

Friday is as good a day as any. Well, I picked the boys up from "school" and the weather was still warm so we went right outside to play! (after dinner of course - because of this new schedule we're on, they now eat dinner early bird style at 5:30). We played and played and lights out at 8:30! Whew, Mommy was tired! Happy, but tired!

On to Saturday...
After our morning rituals of breakfast and potty time, the boys and I met up with Auntie, Uncle Will and Xavier at a music class for toddlers. The boys had been once before when I was out of town, and I was told they (Jordie) had a good time so we invited ourselves back! When we arrived everyone remembered the boys - that was a nice surprise. Of course, Jordie jumped right into the fun!

I think we have a drummer in our midst!

The class was okay... but I'm not in a rush to go back. Aaron never really warmed up to it... which was surprising since he's such a music lover!!! Plus, it was a bit too hokey for me. A bit too folksy. The boys may like it, but after the 3rd week, I'd probably want to shoot myself. I'm glad we went though. Thanks Tif!

Once we left the class, we went back home to get changed! Our day was just beginning.

I got everything together and the 3 of us headed out to the park. for fun. in the sun. the extra hot sun. fun in the oppressive heat of the sun. Did I mention the hot sun? Well, it was hot. loved.every.minute.of.it.

It was hot as blazes out (the BESTEST kind of weather) but we wouldn't be dettered. As soon as we got there, Jordie took off!!! I reeled him back in as we had to stick to the agenda!! Doesn't he know how I operate by now! LOL I lay out a blanket and sit the boys down for a scrumptious picnic. We LOVE picnics. like, a lot. Yummy pb&j and sliced apples.

Just over Jordie's left shoulder (in the pic below) is the playground. I tried to sit him with his back to it so he could concentrate on lunch, but he kept sneaking peeks over that shoulder for what was to come. He is so funny!

As much as I love hot sunny weather (I realllllly do)... I couldn't focus like I wanted. So, I didn't take any more pictures. What a shame too because we had so much fun!!! We were out there for like an hour and a half having the times of our lives (at least Jordie & Owwie were.. haha).

So, we leave the park. The boys need a nap. Mommy needs a nap. We have about a 40 minute drive ahead of us, so the boys got a little respite in the car.

Funny story... So I told you we got a new truck, right? I also told you we got a reeeaaallllllly good deal, right? Did I mention that I often wondered why the dealer practically gave the truck away? Well, I thought I found the answer. We got it in November when air conditioning wasn't needed. Since we are in the midst of a heatwave, I thought I would snatch the viriginity from the a/c unit. Joke's on me. It didn't work. So, the boys are sweating (which they do anyway), the sun is beaming on us, and the best I can do is get the a/c to blow just cooler than warm air. The air that was blowing wasn't warm, but it wasn't cool.... it was right in between. Just awful.

I guess that wasn't such a funny story.

Anyway, we arrive at this lady's house [see lady below] to help her bring in her 30-somethingTH year. (I try not to reveal ages round these parts). But really, she doesn't look a day over 18 does she?? I remember when we first met I thought she was younger than me, by at least a few years - and I met her when I was 19!!

So we get there and I tell everyone my not-so-funny story...and they all look at me like I'm the biggest idiot in the world. I have a Chrysler, the bday girl has a Chrysler and Tif has a Dodge. They then informed me how to properly work the a/c and that I should be publicly flogged for torturing the boys like that. Can I get a do-over??

I soooooo wish I took pictures at the bday bbq. Sooooo much fun! I brought the boys' bikes up with us and they looked so cute riding around on them.... or rather being pushed by everyone in their line of sight. I hope they get the hang of it soon.. my back still hurts!

After our full day out galavanting the streets of SE Pennsylvania, we finally got back home at 10pm. The boys were fast asleep and I was sure after all that excitement that they would sleep later than usual on Sunday.

I was wrong. They woke up extra early. Ready to do it all again. Ummm, no thanks.

We went to church and picked Dad up afterwards for the family dinner. Again, I wish I took pics. I love having everyone together... and I'm sentimental like a mofo!

On to Monday...
Business as usual - until I realized the date! It was the 27th.... very close to the 30th. Why does that matter? Because the whole month has passed and we never did our monthly dinner and a movie. How can that be????

So even though Ty had class, we pressed on without him. We had our favorite dinner & a movie fare - PIZZA! And we watched Toy Story. I forgot how much I liked that movie. (did i ever say what we watched in March? I'm trying to keep a record. We watched Fly Me to the Moon. Jordan loves bugs and he LOVE LOVE LOVES the moon. it was a winner!)

So, that was our long weekend! I wish I could say "in a nutshell" but we all know brevity ain't my thing!
Ha!

Adjustment Much

Soooo, there have been some major changes at Chez BlueWorld! Good changes, I guess... but this is definitely an adjustment period. for all of us.

Last weekend, Ty laid down some ceramic tile in our kitchen. Major improvement!! I wanted to post some before/after pics, but forgot to take before pics. oh well.

Ty got a job (outside of the house) (after a very long time at home with the boys). We're all super happy for him but his new schedule has him working from 6am til 2:30! YIKES! Then, you know he's still in school in the evenings. let's all keep him (& his energy levels) in prayer. I hope he adjusts to his new schedule with minimal problems. he gets cranky when he's overtired...

So, I now have the pleasure of getting the boys dressed and ready in the wee hours of the morning by myself... after they had grown accustomed to hanging out in their pj's for any given amount of time during the day. adjustment period.

Why am I getting them dressed and ready you ask??? Because we had to enroll them into daycare! We didn't want to do it, but with both of us working outside the house we thought it best to not leave them home alone. :-)

So, the boys are up and out by 7:45 for a fun-filled day with snotty nosed, germy, social misfits! Errrr uhhhh, I mean lovely, well-mannered, manicured little tikes. whatever.
Yesterday was their first day. The drop-off went very very well. a little too well if you ask me. I couldn't even get Jordie out of the carseat before he was trying to run inside to see what was in store for him and his brother.

Aaron, comme d'habitude, was a bit apprehensive at first. He has NEVER been in daycare and he's a bit timid in new situations anyway. He stood back and watched Jordan play (who never took his coat or backpack off...ya know, because of the excitement!). I took Aaron to his classroom, where there were no kids. He LOVED that! lol He got busy and played and spoke to his teacher. It was all very cute. I left him and went back to Jordan's room. I was standing in the hall when Aaron walked by. He didn't even speak. Not even a wave. hmmmmpphh
I try to pretend I don't care, but I gotta say - that one stung a bit.

So, I left.
There were no tears, no tantrums, no "Mommmmmmmmmyyyy, don't go." Nada. I'm happy they adapt well, but still.. c'mon..

All in all the day went well. Jordie refused to go to the potty and had an accident. I had to pick him up because somehow the change of clothes I sent with him were soaking wet. As it turns out a cup of juice spilled all over everything in his bag. It was towards the end of the day anyway, so they did well. It was nice to see how happy they were to see me though. Jordie ran over to me in his heavy wet jeans... big toothy grin. such a doll! Aaron was waving to me and of course wanted to be picked up... another big grin. such a sweetie pie!

BUT OMG!!!!!!!
The night was awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There aren't enough exclamation points to emphasize how awful last night truly was!!! A.W.F.U.L. !!
Yesterday was just too much for them. They had no idea how to adjust once they got home. They were completely over-stimulated. They were yelling (at me), pushing (me), bullying (me), demanding food RIGHT NOW (all night), crying (we all took turns). And this is all in the course of about 3 hours. It was the longest 3 hours of my life. I think what made it so bad was because Ty was in class and I was exhausted (I had been up since 5am... getting Ty off for work). Oh yeah, and I'm working on day 8 (!!) of a nasty cold mixed in with some gross allergies. yuck.
Sleep deprivation + sickness + cranky toddlers = CHAOS!

Aaron was in bed at 7:45. That's the earliest he's been to bed since infancy.
Jordan was in bed at 8:30.
The house was quiet by 9... and I was in bed by about 10:30... not bad for me.
We're all adjusting to this new (stricter) schedule.

I wish I could say this morning went as well as yesterday. Definite adjustment period. Despite the glowwwwing remarks by both Jordan and his teacher (he's super-intelligent.. :-D)... Jordan told me this morning that he did NOT want to go back. And if he had to go, I had to stay with him. I actually had to hold his hand to get him through the door. so sad. He was fine though once he got settled.

We'll see how tonight goes. I'm desperately hoping for better results!
Wish us luck!

still adjusting..

What happened next...

Mothers are like superheroes.

They (we) are able to do more in 2 minutes than most are able to do in an entire day. All women, mothers or not, have this gift, but it is just magnified by like 1,000 when you have little ones grappling at your ankles.

This brings me to a most recent happening at Chez BlueWorld.

The boys were playing - quite typical.
Things started to get hairy and I KNEW tears would soon follow - again, quite typical.
*insert loud noise* a thump or a bump or a crash will do. - yep, you guessed it... FAR TOO TYPICAL.

Tears, yelps, ear piercing screams and gut wrenching hollers soon follow. Oy.

Aaron makes his way to me first.
"What's wrong Aaron," says SuperPink.
"Hurt head," says a sobbing baby.
"Sweet baby, what can I do?" says SuperPink.
"Mommmmmmy, kissssss itttttt!" Aaron yells in between the sobbing.

SuperPink proceeds to kiss the baby's head until there are no more tears. Since I'm a superhero, this takes no more than 3 seconds (boy, am I good).

Next up - Jordan.
"Jordan are you okay?" says a PROUD SuperPink!
"I hurt my boo boo!!" Jordan says with such sincerity.... i almost can't laugh.

Can you guess what he asked for next???

Diaper Much

So, it's no secret that I love being with my boys. All the blood, sweat and tears is soooo worth it. The neverending fatigue that accompanies parenthood gets completely (well, maybe not quite completely) erased by those little arms giving you a big hug. I'd love to be a SAHM, but much to my chagrin, that's just not possible right now. Maybe in my next life...

The only aspect of raising 2 babies that I could really do without is changing diapers. Like, really! If I never changed another diaper... you know the rest.

When I got pregnant the first time, we got some GREAT items at the shower - one of which was the handy dandy Diaper Champ. We had our own personal diaper disposal system at our finger tips. It did a pretty good job of masking the (un)pleasant aroma di poopi, but I found myself getting lazier and lazier and we kinda stopped using it some months ago. The reason I don't particularly use it is because toddler poop smells so different from infant poop and in an effort to not waste garbage bags (we used regular kitchen size bags) - I wouldn't empty the Champ until the bag reached capacity. Uhhhh, that thing holds a lot of diapers - which caused for a very stinky nursery.

Anyway, we stopped using it. But we kept it next to our changing station, ya know, for a little ambiance...
sans trash bag.

Fast forward to today.
I come home from work today to an awful stench enveloping the ENTIRE house. I automatically new it was a diaper, but I had no idea where it was coming from. I searched high and low, near and far. Nothing.
I let it go but for a moment.

I take Aaron to the changing room (his old bedroom) and the odor in there could knock you out!!! It didn't smell like that this morning before I left for work - but then again, I was half asleep when I left. Let me just tell you - IT STUNK!!!! It didn't smell like a diaper that had been sitting for a day waiting to be tossed. It smelled more like a diaper that had been hibernating for months waiting for the right opportunity to smack us all in the face.... Boy, did it!

I once again searched the room high and low, near and far. Again, nothing. Something told me to open the Champ. I did. Ty immediately took it outside for further inspection.

So, here's what we found inside. Not sure how long they've been in there and truthfully, I don't care to know. I am positive this is the doing of a child - but it really makes me reconsider our diaper disposal regimen. It also makes me reeeeeaaaalllly want to come back home and embrace all of my control issues and just grab hold of this situation (another post for another day)..

Step one was acknowledging we had a problem. Check! Those diapers gave us no option.
Step two is hosing that sucker down!!! Check!

Step three will be bleaching and disinfecting the Champ tomorrow. No more poop today!

At least I can take some solace in the fact that I made some delish potato soup for dinner tonight. Small victories, right..

In a Matter of Minutes

We went from this....

to this...

LITERALLY.... all it took was seconds!!

This was a few days ago, but I can't for the life of me remember what got him so upset. Oh that's right - he remembered he's 2 and that's just what 2 year olds do! I can laugh about it now, but that was a looonnnngggg night!!

Off to the Races

What a great weekend we had! I can't believe it's over already.

Friday was this month's dinner and a movie. It didn't go off as seamless as I would've liked, but we made it through. This is our 5th month trying to do this, yet we continue to run into at least one obstacle on our special family nights. I won't go into detail about this month's issue...but YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE (Ty)!! LOL

Since it's so cold outside, we watched a movie set on a beach and where there were lots of Cool Surfer Penguins (as Jordie now calls them). The thinking was a nice sunny movie would somehow warm us up. NOT! Surf's Up was a pretty cool movie though. The boys seemed to like it....Jordan did anyway. Aaron can't seem to really focus beyond the opening credits, but we're working on him.

Start every meal with a prayer..

The boys had turkey dogs for dinner and I actually gave them a real treat for dessert. I was a little skeptical about giving them sugar so close to bedtime, but it was a special occasion so I let loose for once! haha They had Dibs.... 3 each (how's that for letting loose! haha). You know those new millenium slightly smaller than Bon Bons ice cream snacks... yeah those. They LOVED them!!

Dinner and a Movie got off to a rough start, but the night definitely ended on a high! There were no strong reactions to sugar, I was able to make a beef stew (delish, btw) while still spending time with the fam, and the boys were both in bed by 9:30 (with very little resistence)! WOO HOO! I'd call that a successful night.

Saturday is a blur. The day started with a sorority meeting about 800 miles west of South Southwest Bubmledoo....yeah, it was THAT far away! I was co-hostess, so I was supposed to be there 30 minutes early to set up. Uhhh, yeah, I got there 10 minutes late! LOL Soooo not funny, but the GPS truly led me astray and set me back like 40 minutes. I left my house at 8:45 and got there at 10:10. BUT, it only took me 45 minutes to get home - go figure! Okay, enough venting. I'll just plan better the next time.

The rest of the day was spent in the house - that is until Jordie called GG with the weepiest, saddest voice I've ever heard.
Break out the violins!

We ended up going to see the Lovetts so Jordie could visit with his GG. We get there and lo and behold, Tif is hosting a par-tay!!! Ummm, where was MY invitation!! haha Not that I'm taking it personally or anything, but shortly after we arrived, everyone else left......

Did I mention Jordan was asleep for at least the first hour we were there for his all important GG fix. Uhhh, yeah..homeboy was rocked! He finally did wake up...and surprisingly enough, in a good mood. He wakes up almost as cranky as me...

The boys and I spent ALL of today together...just the 3 of us. I miss those times. We had breakfast, lunch, programs, naps, snacks, games, etc together. Well, the boys had those. I had cooking, dishes, more cooking, cleaning up, drying of tears, diaper changing, Pop City threats, breaking up of fights, etc.

Ahhhh, SUCH a good day!!! :-D
My only disappointment is that I ran a little short of spaghetti sauce for my lasagna. I don't know how that happened, but at least it still tastes good (even if it is a little dry in spots). Speaking of food, I gave Jordan another ice cream treat today and he ate it like he never had it before (let alone 48 hours ago). And guess what......he didn't like it!! LOL He spit it out and everything. That boy is too much. He did decide to like it again after he saw Aaron salivating over the treat intended for him! Typical..

What else did we do? We watched 3 episodes of Backyardigans for Jordan and 1 episode each of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Handy Manny for Aaron. I forgot what cartoon overload feels like. Next time, we won't try to cram all the fun into one day....gotta spread the love out!

We played baseball (yes, in the house), we jumped, we colored, we did puzzles, we jumped some more, we played ring around the rosies and we ended the day with races. The boys LOVE to race. Jordan loves to run with Aaron and doesn't seem to mind at all that Aaron cheats. Aaron refuses to start at the official start line...he always gives himself a head start. I wonder where he gets that from (his initials should give you a clue.. lol).

...in their 'Ready' position

the cheater in action (check out that headstart.. lol)

Ahhhh, such a great weekend!!!!
Right now, Aaron is in bed and Jordan is on the potty. I can tell because he's yelling complete randomness while sweeping something across the shower curtain (a very distinguishable sound)... probably the toilet brush. Dad is on duty now so I'm not moving. He's got it covered. Besides, I've had more than enough fun this weekend.

Lonnnnngggggg, but fast!

Soooo, it's about time I catch everyone up with what's been going on with the PinkLady! I had a great Q4 2008 and it's about time to document it. Tonight I'll write about my birthday through Thanksgiving and tomorrow (hopefully) I'll cover the Christmas festivities. At that point, we should be all caught up and ready for 2009!!
I'm soooooo ready for 2009 by the way. 2008 was cool, but 2009 is gonna be the year of PINK!! LOL

Ok, this is gonna be fast...Olympic 100 meter dash fast!! Usain Bolt fast!!
On your mark...
Get set..

G.O.

My birthday was fun. The boys went to the Baltimore Aquarium for the day on a church trip, so Ty and I had a fun and relaxing day to ourselves. We haven't had that in a LONG time. We had lunch in Center City, Ty got some specialty tea, I got some gelato (YUM!!!), we had birthday cake and we went to a movie. We had to pack it all into one day because who knows when we'll get that opporunity again. The next day we went to church and we all went to Applebee's for dinner.
Check us out...

Mi mi mi mi mi miiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!! Of course the waiters sang to me.

Ok, on to October! We went to the orchards to pick pumpkins and go for a hayride. SOOOOOOO MUCH FUN!!! I was surprised how much Aaron enjoyed himself. Like, he REALLY liked it.

Jordie got to ride a pony and just like last time he refused to let me or Ty walk around with him - such a big boy. Check him out...

Ahhhh yes, the carnival! I surprised Jordie with a little trip to the carnival after the orchard. We went at nighttime because I knew he'd eventually get tired and we wouldn't have to stay too long (I couldn't have been more wrong btw). It was just me and him...we haven't had that alone time since the nursing days... it was nice. He had such a good time!!!! I HEART JORDIE!! We had such a good time that I took him back the next day after church (also so I could get a funnel cake - have I mentioned my sweet tooth??? lol). If it doesn't appear that he is enjoying himself..it's just because he's focused!!! LOL He has such a beautiful smile, but just recently has it started to come around more. He's so serious!! lol
Every so often he'll ask to go to the carnival again. When it returns in March, we'll be back out there. I'll have to see if Owwie is up for it. We'll see. In the meantime.. helicopters and boats and cars, OH MY! check my boy out...

The day that changed my life... October 23, 1998
On October 23, 1998, at a little before 3pm (it was a Friday) in my apartment at W806, Ty and I shared our first kiss!! MUUUAAAHHHHHH!!! It was a really nice kiss. We celebrate it every year with a kiss. I know, how corny are we!!! LOL I just can't believe it's been 10 years already. That's a looonnnnngggggg time! I feel old.
Check us out...

For some reason Jordie and I had quite a few late nights together. Not sure how his sleeping pattern got so off, but I know on more than one occasion he was begging me to put the camera down!! LMBO Check him out...

Dinner and a movie fell on Halloween in October. Jordan was a cowboy and Aaron was a pirate. Jordan truly perfected his "Giddy-up horsey" and Aaron perfected his "Arrrrrggggghhhhhhh" well before the costumes arrived. They were the cutest little cowboy and pirate I have ever seen!! haha The movie we watched was The Great Pumpkin. Jordan actually watched it and Aaron just danced every time music came on. All in all a great day.. and we got to spend it at GG's house. Check us out...

One of the highlights of the fall was becoming godmother to another beautiful babydoll. She is a DOLL!!!! Babydoll Caedee is the daughter of Jordie's godparents. I won't go into the tragedy that was her dedication (still pi$$$$$$$$$ed about that day), but we all had so much fun the day they asked us to be godparents. Check us all out... the whole gang (minus Ty - I think he played photog that night)... Me, the boys, Babydoll Caedee, Uncle Nick and Auntie E Dot...

How sweet are those babydolls????!!!!!?!?!?!?

O.M.G. I almost forgot!!! I think I mentioned it once before but we finally got a new car!!! WOOO HOOOOOO!!!! Timmy served us well for over 6 years, but the day came for us to let him go and upgrade!!! Timmy had no heat, his 'skin' was peeling, the front passenger side window wouldn't open (unless it was raining and then it wouldn't close.. uggghhhh), the engine light stayed on (computer glitch they say), the door to where you put the gas in was jammed and you need a screwdriver to open it, and oh yeah BOTH kelyess entry things were completely broken. That's just the stuff I can remember 2 months later. Not to sound ungrateful though because Timmy was a GREAT gift, but it was definitely time to move on. Well, HELLLOOOOOO Penny!!! Penny is a charcoal gray 2008 Chrysler Aspen. She's a big girl and a bit of a guzzler, but so far so good!! No complaints! And a bonus - free satellite radio until April! HOLLLLLAAAAA! haha
As evidenced by that way too long paragraph, I am quite pleased with our new purchase.

On to Thanksgiving...
I love the holiday season..and Thanksgiving is the start of it all. My mom hosted Thanksgiving so that was cool. Everyone behaved and a good time was had by all. Aaron got soooo sick though and we were 'stuck' nursing him the whole weekend. We had a really great time though. Aaron loves to take pictures (sick or not) and is always ready to say CHEESE if he sees me with my camera. HOWEVER, my dear Owwie performed something terrible when we all got together to take family pictures at an actual studio. It really is a shame how badly he acted. I wish I had some footage of his behavior - you'd never believe such a sweet baby could act so bllleecchhhhhhh (for lack of a better word). Anyway, we also had November's dinner and a movie at MomB and Dadu's. I snapped a few shots of us, then I fell asleep - while the movie was on!! Aaron missed the movie all together, bless his heart, but Jordan watched the whole thing and wanted to watch another movie afterwards!!! LOL What did we watch??? I believe it was called The Barnyard. I didn't really care for it (what I saw of it), but everyone else liked it.
Thanksgiving, dinner and a movie - check us out...

The whole family before everyone left

A few shots after dinner

Before I dozed off

MomB, Dadu, & Jordie quite focused on that movie

Movie over, peace out, good night!

Love this pic!! Good Morning!

Whew!!! I haven't read over this post, so I hope it makes sense and isn't full of grammatical errors. It's late and I'm too tired and lazy to go back over this. Perhaps I'll read it over tomorrow..... perhaps not.

Good night!
