It's really the little things that make you smile. Yeah, big momentous events and special occasions can make you giddy inside and giggly outside...but it's those little everyday occurrences that can make you take pause and truly be thankful for what you've got.
Have I mentioned how grateful I am to have my boys! Yeah, it's a common refrain over here - but I really do!!
So Jordie can be a little show-off at times. He speaks like an eight year old (at times) and he enunciates better than some adults. He knows this and loves to show off his great diction by repeating EVERYTHING he hears....perfectly. I knew the campaign season was becoming too long when Jordie would enter a room saying, "Mommy I'd like my dinner & I approve this message!" LOL He really is a trip...
I digress
At our house, we were overcome with joy with the declaration that Barack Obama will be our next president. It really made me believe that anything for my boys is possible!! (one of my inner giddy moments)
With that said, I felt it was time to reeeaaallllly begin teaching Jordie his scriptures. Yes, we pray daily and we say our grace and we teach right from wrong, but it's about that time for him to get into the Word a bit. So, I taught him a fantastic scripture that completely epitomizes this campaign season.....I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! Phillipians 4:13. From this point forward I want him to know that he can do ALL things...
So, after repeating it about 5 times, he had it memorized. I tell you, he really is a special boy!
On Sunday after church he ran into our patsor's arms (they have a special connection) and said, "Reverend, I learned my scriptions!! I learned my scriptions!!" A proud moment for me, indeed. He then recited his scriptions with such gusto and such confidence.. I was left speechless. Great things are in store for that little fellow!
On to my Owwie! He is only 16 months so no scriptions yet for him. I will say though that he is speaking A LOT more!! He has been a mumbler since he uttered his first word and you could never really make out what he was trying to say. Well, the boys call my mom MomB but my dear Owwie could never get that B sound so he ended up calling both me and my mom Mommy. I had no problem with it, but my mom seemed troubled that he couldn't quite get that B sound.
Here's the kicker....he CAN say the B sound! didn't see that one coming did you?? :-D
I had my mom on the phone one night and I asked Owwie if he wanted to watch a movie and he said "Yeah, Boobie!!" My mom, of course, was shocked!! Laughter ensued. I simply told her he can't quite make the B sound after the M sound, but he'll get it sooner or later. That always provides for a good laugh....
Gotta love my Owwie!
off to bed......another migraine. this one is no joke! Stress kills folks - so TAKE IT EASY!!!
btw, I finnnnnaaaaallllllyyyyyy bought a new car! Probably the source of my headache... I desperately needed it though. I've only had it for about 24 hours and I love it!! Ty loves it too!! I'm happy about it and only have the smallest bit of buyer's remorse... I sure do hope it passes!
Ok, off to bed! night night
